help a sister out

Last week was the Palio di BYU sponsored by BYU's Club Italia. My class was in the contrada (essentially team) of Tartuca, the turtle, so we dressed in our best yellow and blue, painted our faces, sang the hymn of our contrada, and ate delicious Italian food (although I don't know if you can consider the less-than-authentic Little Caesar's pizza as Italian, but let's not talk about that...).

Obviously this also necessitated having the TMNT as mascots (turtles + Italian Renaissance artists = yes please), so I convinced Emily, Cat, and their friends Caro(line) and Chloe to come to the Palio dressed as the ninja turtles.

And boy, did they deliver.

It was beyond excellent, as was the Palio, which was complete and utter madness once it got underway. Tutto pazzo.
