Regarding the title of this post, wouldn't that be the best job? A girl can dream. And window-shop on Etsy (the source, admittedly, of several of my favorite vintage dresses).
Isn't
this skirt darling? I love the grass pattern. Even though it's a vintage skirt from the 1950s, the print feels completely modern to me. And the grass pattern is so appropriate for the botanical motifs of Pushing Daisies! (If it wasn't obscenely expensive, I'd be in trouble)
And
this dress is in the wrong color family for PD, but I still think it's lovely (the daisies! they're perfect!).
Visiting New York City at Christmastime is one of my favorite traditions. Emily and I went up to NY the day after Christmas with our dad and spent the day in museums and midtown. The snow in the city was magical and the wind was biting, but braving the cold was worth it, as it always is.

Oh how I love that city.
Going to the Bradbury Building was a dream–come–true. Ah. My words are insufficient for how I love this building. I tried to explain to my family (somewhat unsuccessfully) and once they saw it for themselves, they better understood my enthusiasm. The clean, modern lines that I love plus incredible, beautiful detail in every aspect. Love love love.
Not to mention it is referenced or appears in two of my favorite films and my favorite TV show.

I received an email today detailing the contact information of my host family for the duration of my internship... I'll be living with three other girls who are also interning, and we'll be hosted by a retired lady who lives just outside of Siena. The email mentioned that one of her hobbies is beekeeping!!
Beekeeping! This is so exciting to me, I am really fascinated by bees. I'll admit this is partly due to the romanticized idea of beekeeping on
Pushing Daisies, but it's also partly due to working for two summers on a
farm where they kept bees. They're such industrious little insects, and they do so much good. And if you don't bother them (or wear floral patterns or bright colors), they don't bother you.
So maybe I'll learn a little about beekeeping this summer... that would be extra exciting.

but only a little!
I'm working two jobs for the summer [in a department store and on a farm, hence the little bit of sunburn] in order to save money for school [and a camera i hope! ha]. but working two jobs leaves little time for much else which is very unfortunate.
here's some of what has been occupying my precious and few moments of non-working time:
-PUSHING DAISIES
I miss Pushing Daisies so so *so* much! I'm really bummed ABC cancelled it. Really ABC? Really? And the show that took its' place is "Wipeout" ??? who even watches that? Continuing... Pushing Daisies holds the place in my heart for favorite TV show, and I have really missed it. The last three episodes of the second and final season :[ have just recently aired and made me realize just how much i have missed this show. I love it so greatly because not only it is so whimsical, but also because it reminds me of some of the people I love the most. and so this week I re-watched the first season and have been listening to the soundtrack as well.. call me obsessed.
-writing letters
in progress [aka. stamped and addressed but not quite finished] are letters to Amy and Erin. recently mailed: to my cousin Jessica. coming soon: some of my missionary friends, and Hannah.
-other miscellaneous things
such as dentist & eye doctor's appointments.
-there were some other things but i am reeeaaalllllyyyy tired after 12 hours of work [SO MANY] today so I'm going to leave it at the above-mentioned things.
As a final note, i realized i never posted pictures of my bookbinding final project. so here they are!
