on an architecture kick...

more specifically i'm obsessed with a couple houses in my neighborhood. and this morning i sketchily took pictures of them. ha.

i really really love how in this house, the roman bricks, the clerestory windows & also the main windows, and the house structure itself all share the same long rectangular shape.

and this house. OHMYGOODNESS. i don't know what it is [that's a lie, i actually do know, i'm about to tell you, in fact] but i just loveee it!

it's just so unobtrusive and i love how the appearance of the house is interesting from whichever angle you see it. also, there was some kind of entrance leading into some courtyard space from which i think you access the front door, but you couldn't see straight into the courtyard because of the placement of a slatted wood wall. it wouldn't be confusing though to someone unfamiliar with the layout since there's a sidewalk leading to the entrance. such great detail planning.


someday i might ask them if i can have a tour of their house. because i'm kind of dying to see what the inside and backyard look like. ahhaha. but i might not. regardless, happy saturday.
